Let’s be more like that, then
If I have a favorite awful argument in favor of reducing the drinking
age in the U.S., it’s probably the whine that Europe’s “enlightened”
drinking laws ensure that kids get acclimated to alcohol
early. Consequently, they know better than to overindulge.
Right.
[Reuters] Thousands of teenagers and students swarmed onto Spanish streets on
Friday for mass drinking sessions, defying legislation introduced to
stop the binges known as “botellones.”

Euromanga
Who says the Europeans aren’t doing
anything
to combat racism? (If you don’t like PDFs and are on the campus,
Firestone has a copy – I stumbled
across this there.)
Here’s a great snippet:
An artificial world where no-one is ugly, no-one is fat,
where there are no blacks or asians! All sunshine and happiness! […]
Under the guise of humor, we are bombarded with clichés and I’m sure
it becomes even more difficult to deal with reality. In real life
there’s rain, asians, fat people, and plenty of nastiness.

As seen in the Pink Pages
Yesterday’s Financial Times reported
that the EU’s racism monitors buried a report on anti-Semitism. Why?
… because the study concluded Muslims and pro-Palestinian
groups were behind many of the incidents it examined.
I wonder if those were the same groups who burned
a Jewish school in France last week?
Andrew Sullivan wrote that he feels
like he’s back in 1935.
